This is from my current WIP, a YA Urban Fantasy.
“Ann, it's cool if you have a boyfriend. That's fine. He's just creepy, like he's trying to steal you away, and well... he's really creepy.”
Ann burst into tears.
Steph and I traded a shocked look.
“I knew you'd say that,” she sobbed. “That's why I didn't tell you, but he's really really nice and he likes me and...” she sniffed.
“Ann, it's ok. Really. Meg's creepy too. We're good with that. We're your friends and we just want to make sure that everything is ok.”
I glared at Steph, but right now it wasn't worth the argument. Creepy? Me? No... Never...

Brief Update
Monday, August 31st, 2009
I'm making more progress on my WIP, slowly but surely. I am also making progress on my side project, as I have to have a chapter finished for this month to post on my online writing group.
On a slightly more exciting note, I'm very close to being done with the edits on Restless Nights which means then I get to start submitting.

Monday, August 10th, 2009
I have now completed just over 1400 words in my new WIP. This week marks the end of my "using moving" as an excuse not to write so I suspect that my progress will be steady from here on out. (I needed a break after my last project as well.)
Because I have a day job my WC goal will be 500 words a day.
I still have some organizing around the new place to do however the vast majority of it is done. Yes, I am happy about this.

Happy August everyone. This month I will finish revisions on my novel Restless Nights and I will have a synopsis and query letter that will dazzle. I hope.
I'm also starting my next WIP tomorrow. It is a post apocalypse set in a sort of fantasy version of our world that follows several characters GRRM style.
I'll post snippets as I go.

Current Projects.

Currently I'm working on character building and world planning for my next novel, a post apocalypse set in our world. I will likely begin writing this novel in August.
I am also working on editing my finished novel Restless Nights, and will begin submitting as soon as I have it as polished as I can. Again likely to start that process in August.
I'm also editing several short and serial stories for future free fiction for my website.
Things are a busy right now in my non-writing life. We're moving at the end of the month, among other things, which will likely keep updates to this site slow until we get settled, again, in August.
